Ingredients
- 150g beef mince (minimum 10% fat content)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 slices Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 brioche bun cut in half and toasted
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon spiced tomato chutney
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 handful shredded lettuce
- 2 gherkin slices

Method
-
1Mix the beef mince and salt together with your hands and shape into 2 balls.
-
2Place the Toughened Non-Stick Frying Pan on the hob over medium heat for 2 minutes.
-
3Place one of the mince balls into the pan and push down with a burger press. Alternatively, place a piece of baking parchment on top of the mince ball and press down with the base of a pan or a potato masher. Repeat with the second mince ball.
-
4Cook for 3 minutes or until the burgers start caramelising and browning, then turn over and press down again.
-
5Place a slice of cheese on top of each burger whilst it is frying.
-
6When the burgers are caramelised on both sides it is time to assemble them.
-
7Spread the mayonnaise on the base and lid of the bun, followed by the shredded lettuce and one of the cooked burgers.
-
8Spread the burger with the tomato chutney, followed by the second smash burger.
-
9Top with tomato and gherkin slices.
-
10Top with the brioche bun’s lid and enjoy.
